The AeroMobil, the world’s first flying car

The AeroMobil debuted in Miami during Art Basel Miami at the Arsenale. It is a project whose realization has taken more than 300,000 hours of design, development and testing. According to its creators, it works perfectly both on the ground and in the air.

Patrick Hessel, CEO of AeroMobil explains that he is inspired by a variety of industries to come up with a true hybrid vehicle.

Knowing the AeroMobil

The dimensions of this flying vehicle are 6 meters long by 7 meters with a wingspan of 9 meters. Very large dimensions if it is a vehicle but very small if it is an airplane.

Power comes from a custom, lightweight 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder boxer internal combustion engine, generating close to 300 hp. All controlled by FADEC (totally autonomous digital electronic control).

On the highway it reaches 160 km/hour with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/hour in 10 seconds.

In flight, the cruising speed is 260 km/h, and its technology includes autopilot and a ballistic recovery parachute system.

The interior is defined as a luxury interior, although you probably won’t see another like it.

The production of the first AeroMobil will be limited to 500 units and its price will range between 1.2 and 1.5 million euros. The first 25 vehicles will be a special founders edition.
