Wrecked cars to create art

A priori when you see the photograph, the first thing you think is how it is possible for a vehicle to have such an accident. And you don’t stop until you imagine the situation. In this case, the reality is very different. Artists such as Dirk Skreber from Germany and Kevin Beasley from the United States use wreckage from wrecked cars to create stunning works of art.

It is precisely Dirk Skreber who expresses art in his sculptures with cars stamped against poles, in the most realistic way possible.

In the case of Kevin Beasley, his most iconic sculpture is that of a totally wrecked 2008 Cadillac Escalade ESV. On that occasion it was a vindication of said brand, since for decades it prohibited the direct sale of this model to people of color.

Now you know that not every time you see wrecked cars, it will be a vehicle that has suffered an unfortunate accident. In some cases, that impact produced in every human being when seeing a car in such a state, is precisely the reaction that some artists seek, to draw the viewer’s attention.
