Aptera, a solar two-seater that is already in production
It is no longer fiction but reality. The Aptera company will begin this year 2022 to market a solar electric vehicle with a very unique appearance, which does not require charging for most of its daily use.
Aptera, with more than 15 years of development, was founded by Chris Anthony and Steve Fambro. Its first model was presented in 2008, although it was not an electrically pure model.
The new Aptera 3 promises to reach 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Its range of autonomy will go from 402 kilometers in the basic version to 1,600 km in the 100 kWh version.
This vehicle already has 22,000 reservations. If you wonder what is the reason for its success, comment that with its four meters it achieves a wind resistance coefficient of 0.13. This reason allows you to increase your autonomy.
Aptera Technical Data
This futuristic car with aerodynamic bodywork is a 3-wheeled two-seater measuring 4.36 m long, 2.23 m wide and 1.44 m high. Its trunk has a capacity of 708 litres.
With a range of up to 1,600 km, it has a 60 kWh capacity. You can choose two different types of mechanics: one front-wheel drive and one all-wheel drive. The biggest claim is undoubtedly the solar panels that it entails and extend its autonomy.
As for the price, it ranges between $26,000 and $45,000, depending on the battery pack chosen.
Sleep in the car comfortably?
The Aptera vehicle, in addition to its 1,600 km of autonomy, its solar panels, also has an addition and that is that it can become a tent.
This futuristic vehicle is the most surprising, and it is already a reality that in a short time we will see it circulating. Find out!
